The Master of Public Health (MPH) is a demanding and intellectually challenging postgraduate programme designed to equip students with the advanced knowledge, analytical skills, and professional competencies required to address complex and evolving public health challenges. The programme focuses on the study of population health, disease prevention, health systems, and evidence-based interventions at local, national, and global levels.
The programme is delivered through specialised pathways in Epidemiology, Health Promotion, and Leadership and Management, allowing students to tailor their studies to specific areas of public health practice and expertise. All students complete four core taught modules and a dissertation. Students may then choose a named pathway (Epidemiology, Health Promotion, or Leadership and Management), taking one compulsory pathway module and one elective module. Alternatively, students may take the general Master of Public Health by choosing two elective modules.
The campus is located in one of the best areas on the island, and the faculty and staff at GBS Malta have always been incredibly supportive. I feel that I’ve made many friends not only among fellow students but also with staff and educators and I’m confident that whenever I need support or resources, there is always someone ready to assist me.
Being a student here, I can say that the lecturers and my staff members and everything just in the college are super helpful and amazing.If I talk about the lecturers,they are super experienced and they are amazing in terms of the teaching methods,we have maltese and international lecturers,so its a diverse culture here.

Living and studying in Malta has been a truly thrilling experience. From studying by the beach, to going to cafés, to meeting amazing people, every moment has been memorable. Most importantly, studying in an English-speaking environment has been a huge advantage for me. With six modules completed in one year, we managed the academic pressure thanks to the constant advice and support from the administration and faculty. They were more than just helpful, they were nurturing.
GBS Malta gave me the opportunity to make friends from all over the world. It is one of the best private higher education institutions in Malta, offering strong academic standards and affordable tuition fees. Both academic and non-academic staff are extremely supportive, making my experience here truly second to none. GBS Malta is a great place to be.
The faculty and staff at GBS have been so amazing to me in all the process since I was in Colombia and when I arrived here as well. They have been so good, so helpful. Also, the amazing opportunity to learn and to have the best knowledge from the best people in the area. Students develop an understanding of key areas such as epidemiology, health research methods, quantitative and qualitative analysis, health promotion strategies, and public health leadership, alongside applied knowledge in their chosen pathway. The programme emphasises critical thinking, data interpretation, research literacy, and the evaluation of health policies and interventions.
Through applied learning, research-led teaching, and engagement with real-world public health issues, students develop both analytical and professional competencies aligned with current health sector needs. Graduates are prepared for roles in public health practice, epidemiology, health promotion, healthcare leadership, and policy development, as well as progression to further doctoral study or advanced professional roles.
